John 1:4-10 The Light
Posted by adventbiblestudy on September 8, 2011
(John 1:4) The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to people.
God’s word has always been my greatest comfort in life. When I pray and open His word, it is like a friend, and Father talking to me, giving me advice, wisdom, comfort, and security. God’s word is alive.
Jesus is our light. He leads me down the dark paths life has sent. To receive His light I must constantly read his word.
(John 1:5) The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.
The word of God shines ever brighter on my darkest day. No matter who, or how they try to tear me away from my trust in God, I will always turn to Him, and HIS WORD.
God is the light and I need to always follow his light. When I do, Satan can never discourage me.
(John 1:6) God sent his messenger, a man named John,
(John 1:7) who came to tell people about the light, so that all should hear the message and believe.
(John 1:8) He himself was not the light; he came to tell about the light.
John was chosen by God to prepare the world for Jesus’ ministry here on earth. John preached about His coming and prepared the people to accept Jesus. I have a similar task, to tell people about the life Jesus lead, what He taught, and that He will come again.
(John 1:9) This was the real light—the light that comes into the world and shines on all people.
Jesus is the real light, the real answer. His light shines on all people. I pray for the opportunity to share what I have learned from His light and His word with others.
God will always be a light unto my path, because I pray, read, and listen to His word.
(John 1:10) The Word was in the world, and though God made the world through him, yet the world did not recognize him.
It is so sad to think, God created this world, and even people who claim to know Him are so indifferent to His word. His laws, and His love.
We were made in God’s image but we still need to read His word and pray to stay faithful to Him.
