Bible Study Computer Skills

If you can Google you can study the Bible.
There are a number of computer programs available. What type and how much material you are interested in will determine which program to purchase. One of the lowest cost, easiest to use and most useful programs is, The Bible Library Version 4.0, by Ellis Enterprises.
This site contains a number of Bible programs to download:
I find it best to stick with one Bible version. There is little to be gained by switching from Bible to Bible or comparing texts in multiple versions. This is known as leaning on an arm of flesh, or relying upon another person to supply an interpretation.
Simple searches are conducted by inserting a word or group of words into a search window and viewing the results. The one feature I like about the Bible Library Version 4.0 by Ellis Enterprises is the ability to quickly copy texts. Simply highlight the text and press the COPY button. This places the text into a word document. It also includes the book, chapter and verse information. Most programs do not do this for you. This saves a lot of time.
Once you learn to do simple word studies you will find very little use for references and commentaries. It may not be worth the money to purchase the more expensive Bible study programs. Make sure you purchase a Bible program that includes a concordance.
This is a site which offers free concordance downloads:
This site has Bibles, concordances and dictionaries. It also contains a page which lists the words in the Bible and will supply a list of texts the word is found in. This is all you will need to do online Bible word studies.
