I had a sermon study the other day that covered Leviticus 17:11 and 14 showing that in the power of the sanctuary Jesus mediates on this type of a behalf as it is what brings Atonement (his blood), and more importantly in John 6 he seems to allude to the fact that in his flesh and in his blood is life and that he equates them both to his words.

    1. Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

this rings true when you think of the process given to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 8 about God humbling you, causing you to hunger yet feeding you, not letting your close wane, taking care of you in the midst of trail to see if you would keep his words! Because you cannot live on bread alone but BY EVERY WORD that proceeds from the mouth of God!

There is great reason Jesus quotes this in Matthew 4 I think!
